A quilt made in America in 1950 and another made in Kentwood, Louisiana in 1940, inspired this quilt. The block is Star of Bethlehem, also known as Star of the Magi. It can be made as either a scrappy quilt or alternately made to look more formal with each block the same. It can be hand or machine pieced and its creation is made easier and more accurately with use of custom made perspex templates.
One version consists of 9 blocks made in a scrappy style with 4 borders. The other version has 16 blocks, which are all the same, and has 3 borders. Both quilts include a pieced border.
The pattern includes full sized templates and comprehensive instructions to make both versions of the Star of Bethlehem quilt.
