In May, I spent a week in Massachusetts with my good friend, Dianne. This state is full of rich and interesting history - most interesting to me, of course, are the beautiful antique quilts.
Ranging in age and condition, my main attraction was, as always, to the quilts made in the 1800's with bonus points for those that contained the ever so coveted Turkey Red.
We went to a variety of antique shops, shows and quilt stores, finding a variety of fascinating and intricate items - not just limited to quilts, either!
We also visited the Antique Textiles, Vintage Fashions Show & Sale in Sturbridge - I could have spent thousands, but still did some damage to my bank account! So many beautiful quilts and fabrics - heaven for a reproduction designer and lover!
