Ingrid's Medallion showcases my fabric collection "Philomena" and features most of the fabrics in the fabric line. It is inspired by antique medallion-style quilts, made in the 19th century and features floral baskets with birds in the quilt centre and outer border. These floral baskets and birds can be cut out and appliquéd as Broderie Perse onto the outer border length or the same effect can be achieved by piecing together blocks from the Basket and Bird fabric and the Background Vines fabric to form the outer border. The sample quilt has been hand and machine pieced, however it can be entirely hand pieced if preferred.
