This quilt was inspired by a photo, sent to me by an American friend, of an antique quilt purchased in an op-shop in Texas, USA. As a lover of circular designs and Seven Sister quilts I was instantly drawn to redesigning the block for the basis of a new quilt. The original quilt was 9 blocks straight set with pieced sashings. I added the sawtooth border around the circular 7 stars to complete the block. The quilt consists of hand pieced blocks, set on point with foundation pieced saw tooth sashings . The quilt is finished with a pieced border and uses a variety of fabrics to achieve controlled scrappy effect. Finished quilt size - 83" x 83".
