This quilt was inspired by an antique pieced and appliquéd quilt made in Ireland in the 1870's. It has a central reversed appliqué ‘Fleur de Lis' type block which was drafted by folding paper in to eighths and cutting out a design, which happened to emulate a Fleur de Lis. The flying Geese borders are sewn using the foundation piecing method. The remainder of the quilt is machine pieced. Finished size - 56” x 60”
