Sarahs Wreath

Finished Quilt Size – 69in. x 69in

A quilt made in Deep River, Connecticut in 1850 inspired this original quilt design. The antique quilt was made by Sarah Mary Stevens Bailey and consisted of an applique block repeated throughout the quilt, set on point with pieced sashings.

Sarah’s Wreath consists of nine pieced and four appliquéd blocks, straight set with pieced sashings and completed with a pieced diamond border. It is hand appliquéd and machine pieced, but can be entirely pieced by hand if preferred.
